An air compressor is an important equipment that compresses and stores air, providing compressed air for various industrial and commercial purposes. Its working principle revolves closely around the process of compressing air: first, external air is sucked in, then the sucked in air is compressed to increase the air pressure and density, and finally the compressed air is stored or output to the required equipment or system.

 

Taking a screw air compressor as an example, it compresses air by rotating two interlocking screws. When the tooth slots of the main rotor and auxiliary rotor turn towards the inlet of the housing, the space is larger and the tooth slots are connected to the air inlet, allowing external air to be drawn in. As the rotor rotates, the tooth slot space gradually decreases, the air is compressed, the pressure increases, and finally discharged through the exhaust port. During the compression process, the air temperature will significantly increase, so air compressors are usually equipped with cooling systems to reduce temperature and ensure safe and efficient operation.

 

At present, there are various types of air compressors on the market, including screw type, piston type, centrifugal type, and slide type, which are suitable for different application scenarios. Choosing a suitable air compressor requires consideration of various factors such as air flow rate, pressure requirements, energy efficiency ratio, noise level, and after-sales service, as well as regular maintenance, including replacing filters, checking lubricating oil, and maintaining cooling systems, to ensure long-term stable operation of the equipment.
