The main function of gas storage tanks in air compression systems is to ensure stable gas supply. Compressed air settles and accumulates water in the air storage tank, regulating the pressure fluctuations of pneumatic equipment caused by imbalanced air consumption, increasing the pressure stability of pneumatic equipment, or storing a portion of compressed air. In the event of a compressor failure, users can use this portion of compressed air for emergency treatment of pneumatic equipment or pneumatic control systems.
Selection of Gas Storage Tanks
1. Pressure selection - According to the different pressures that the gas storage tank can withstand, it can be divided into high-pressure gas storage tank, low-pressure gas storage tank, and atmospheric pressure gas storage tank. The pressure of the optional air storage tank only needs to be greater than or equal to the exhaust pressure of the air compressor.
2. Volume selection - The selected air storage tank has a volume ranging from approximately 0.3-0.5 of the air compressor's displacement; If environmental conditions permit, large capacity air storage tanks can be chosen to help store more compressed air and better pre remove water.
3. Material selection - Gas storage tanks can be divided into carbon steel gas storage tanks, low-alloy steel gas storage tanks, and stainless steel gas storage tanks based on the selected material. Choose the appropriate material according to industry needs.
Precautions for using gas storage tanks
1. It is strictly prohibited to overpressure or overheat the gas storage tank. Operators should ensure that the gas storage tank is in normal working condition.
2. It is strictly prohibited to use open flames around gas storage tanks or containers, and it is forbidden to use open flames to inspect the interior of containers.
3. Gas storage tanks are special equipment with a typical service life of 10 years and require regular inspection.
